Beth Moore and Mercedes

What a wonderful weekend! I started the weekend off Friday night at Beth Moore's Living Proof Live in Bossier City. This continued until Saturday around noon. It was amazing to be in a room with 14,000 positive, upbeat women. I went with a friend, who is a former co-worker, and it was nice to catch up with her.

It's always nice to receive a positive response from someone when you're asked, "Do you have children?" and you answer "We're in the process of adopting". I met another adoptive mommy at the event and the statement of "We're adopting from China" brought tears to her eyes. It 's surreal to see the impact our baby girl is already having on others.

After Saturday's event, I met up with "Arbonne Friends" and we test drove Mercedes! Today was Arbonne's National Test Drive a Mercedes Day" and we all got a chance to drive a white Mercedes. My five-year-old Honda Civic just doesn't drive the same now.

One Year Anniversary

No, not our wedding our anniversary. One year ago today our paperwork was logged in at the Chinese Center of Adoption Affairs (CCAA). The CCAA is responsible for all adoptions in China, so we became official parents-to-be on this date. This is called our "log in date". LID for short. When we started this journey, the wait to receive the referral for your baby was 6 months. We're now at the 12 month mark with no end in sight. This blog will answer the question of "Have you heard anything?". Wait....I can answer that now. No. We have not heard anything and will not hear anything until our agency calls with our referral. There's really no need to ask us this question everytime you see us. Somedays the wait is harder than others, and if you catch me on a bad wait day, this question can easily push me over the edge. I thought this blog would be an easy way for our family and friends to follow along and see what it's like to be expectant, adoptive parents-to-be. The average couple are only expectant parents-to-be for 9 months; we're above average.
